Apparently, the Big Read (a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (sic)) guesses that the average adult has only read six of the top 100 books on this list.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline (or mark in a different color) the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your blog.

So I suppose I am above the average. And I've read the Bible more than once so that should count for something. I couldn't figure out how to underline or change colors.

Tackle It Tuesday

When I was a teenager I used to spend a few weeks in the summer at my Aunt Joyce's house, watching my little cousins Jen and Becca. My Aunt had an AWESOME guest room! It was stacked high with yardage, yarn, patterns and trashy romance novels. She always apolozized for it, but I thought it was cool. I spent the summer making the kids freezer pops, breaking up fights and reading Harlequin romances.

Little did I realize at the time how this experience would rub off of me. NO... not the trashy romance novel part. The spare bedroom full of junk.





Before Stephanie moved out I had the office downstairs full of my art stuff. Slowly but surely the kids took it over because the computer was down there too. So after Steph moved out I took over her room. See Above.

Where I thought that my Aunt's room was cool... I find my room cluttered and unsettling. This room became my first thing to tackle on my first "Tackle it Tuesday"!

Here is what has to go. I'm thinking of taking the books to the used bookstore down the street. The stuff in the hamper will be tossed.

Shopping Aimlessly

After I woke from my Sunday nap (I worked last night) I decided to go shopping.  I had money.  I had plenty of time.  Henry and Jason are still in Texas, so I didn't have anyone to tag along with me complaining the whole time or anyone to nag at me and tell me to not spend too much money.  So I wandered from Ross and Michael's to Border's and Barnes & Noble.  I eventually found a book, but I also discovered something.  For some reason it's more fun shopping when I have to sneak off to do it.  Who knew?  I pick up Jason at the airport tomorrow afternoon so my enjoyment of the shopping experience will soon improve.  Henry will be staying with Grandma and Grandpa until the 1st week in July, after that I'll really go shopping!!!
