Waiting for the Ferry

Well, we've made our way up here to Washington. We left Arizona on April 21st at 3:30 pm after 2 days of the movers packing and loading our stuff.

We spent the first night in Santa Clarita, CA.

You can see the LOVELY LA smog!

The next day we arrived in Roseville, CA.

Lovely Northern California rain!

We decided that it would be best to be on the north side of Sacramento for an easy departure on Friday morning.

While we were in the Sacramento area we visited with my dad and my little sister Cecelia and then went to dinner with my grandma.

After dinner I met my dear friend Jody for drinks.

I have known Jody since I was 5 years old.

Late Friday afternoon we arrived in Hillsboro, OR and we spent that evening and the whole next day at my friend Michelle's house. I've known Michelle since I was a senior in high school.

Michelle and our traveling gnome.

We departed from Oregon on Sunday late morning and made it to the Seattle area about 3 hours later and checked into our hotel in Lynnwood.

We've had a blast here in Washington these past few days.

We went on the Seattle Underground tour.

A skylight from the surface of Seattle's current streets to where the sidewalks used to be.

Then we went to the Pike Place Market down on the pier.

I could have spent the whole day there! But we had a great dinner that night. We grilled fresh halibut steaks on the grill at the hotel and fresh corn and salad. Glad we have been staying at Residence Inn (kitchen in each unit).

Tuseday I was force to go on the Boeing Tour. Sorry.... no pictures allowed. But it was worth it because yesterday we all went to Whidbey Island and we saw the Meerkerk Rhododendron and Azalea Garden and then to the Lavender Wind Farm.

We took a ferry to get over to the island.

It was so beautiful at the garden!

It was so much fun walking around and seeing all the flowers.

I would have loved to have spent the whole day there.

My new retirement goal is to have a lavender farm on Whidbey Island!
